Walking Holiday Kit List

The following is a list of suggested kit, it’s not exhaustive and you may feel you want to bring other items particularly non-walking clothes. If you are unsure about any item of equipment, please do ask us about it.

We carry basic first aid kits; with more extensive kits available in vehicles used at water stops.

Passport and relevant documents including insurance and valid EHIC card (if applicable)

Walking boots or sturdy trail shoes – well-fitting and comfortable.

A small back pack or belt in which you can carry water – we have regular opportunities to top up water so the ability to carry 1 litre (max) should be plenty

Wide-brimmed hat or cap (ideally which shades your neck)

Loose fitting short-sleeved tops for wear while walking

Walking trousers or shorts – zip-off leg trousers are ideal but lightweight and comfy is a must

Sunscreen and lip balm – it can be very bright here even over the winter months

Toiletries – including bug spray. Don't forget any prescription medication you may require

There is a small shop in the village which stocks some toiletries. However we suggest bringing sunscreen of an adequate factor for your skin type.

Lightweight waterproof jacket – it's unlikely to rain in the summer months, but it does occasionally. A waterproof jacket can also be used to keep your warm, the evenings can be chilly in contrast to daytime temps

Warm jumper or fleece – for evening use

Other shoes – for wear when not walking

Euros – for extra purchases, café visits etc

Light trail gaiters – can be useful if your hiking boots do not come high over the ankle. Full gaiters are not necessary

Camera – we're sure you'll want to take some photos. A mobile phone could well suffice. We suggest protecting in a resealable plastic bag in your pack

Walking poles – these can make long ascents easier but are not essential

Hat and gloves – if walking with us over the winter months

Phone charger and adapter – Spain is the standard two pin EU socket

Book  – something for relaxation times in your holiday.

Blister kit – if you do have problems with blisters we’d suggest bringing along your usual care kit. There is a pharmacy in the village which stocks basic supplies.

Other info:

We offer a laundry service for runners staying with us. Kit will be turned around within 24 hours.

Towels are provided.

Note: If you are traveling with a low-cost airline without hold luggage, we’d suggest purchasing toiletries (especially sunscreen) on arrival at the airport. Depending on flight times we may be able to stop at a supermarket for you to purchase items.
